NEPTUNE has translated the concept of project-based learning into the International Projects.

International Projects
project work
For 9 days, a group of 30 students from five different countries and different disciplines work together to solve a complex environmental problem. The participants are divided into 6 smaller working teams composed of five students. One student from each participating country.

team building introduction weekend
After a team-building-introduction during the weekend, each student presents his/her preliminary work to his/her fellow students. At the beginning of the project week, each team receives a description of its specific task during the projectweek. The teams are responsible for making a presentation of their plans and proposals.

handing out the certificates
The project concludes with the "final presentations", which are judged by an outside jury of experts and are often attended by the municipalities and companies involved.

All students receive a certificate for participating in the project afterwards.

For a detailed programme, please view the scheme below

A supervisor is appointed for each working team. He or she oversees the learning process and is the primary contact person for students encountering problems. In addition to their project-related activities, students attend key-note lectures on various aspects of the overall problem dealt with during the project period.

The most important aim of the NEPTUNE Projects is to integrate different subject areas effectively and to achieve cooperation between students of different nationalities.

The students are not the only ones to benefit from these two types of integration. These projects also offer lecturers a unique opportunity to meet colleagues from different disciplines and different European countries.
